My father introduced me to photography and gave me my first professional camera, a Nikon FTN he had brought back from Japan while I was in high school, I have been capturing images ever since.

I studied at the International Film & Television Workshops (now Maine Media Workshops) in Rockport Maine and University of Bridgeport, Ct. and worked for several commercial photographers.  In addition to photography, I have worked in professional video and streaming media for many years, content showcasing that work located: http://gilberthammer.com/

My areas of interests are varied, from architecture to landscapes and abstract forms however, light and shadow are the most important factors I look to when choosing a subject. I have shot with a variety of formats and cameras over the years - currently I use a number of Nikon platforms.
